Animal shelter project
A group of animal lovers are
paying homage to their departed pets by helping the Langlade County
Humane Society.
On Thursday, Jerry Becker, Oscar Huber, Jack
Listle, Wally Thurber and Jerry Voigt, all of the White Lake area,
installed the new “Freedom Run,” two additional kennels 10 feet wide
by 30 feet long to the south of the shelter.
The project,
approved by the society’s board of directors, will allow the dogs at
the shelter to spend more time outside getting exercise and fresh
air.
Funding came from 12 families from the White Lake
area—Rob D'Mato, Joe and Jean Edelman, Jack and Mary Fairchild, Joe
and Grace Foti, Bill and Marge Gamble, Duff and Mia Leaver, Bill and
Nancy Schmit, the Skarlupka family, Andy and Connie Tesheneck, Rich
and Jackie Troemel, Art and Brenda Ungar, John and Nancy
Williams—and three families from the Antigo area—Rhinehardt and
Jeanette Balcerzak, Mary Nickell and Tom and Gail Zaverousky who
donated the funds for the project, all in memory of a pet.
A
plaque will be installed noting the donors and dogs’ name.
Additional assistance came from Rhinehardt Balcerzak, Marv
Runyon and Jenna Nelson and her fencing committee: Alicia Bailey,
Jeanette Balcerzak, Mike Bostwick, Verlin Bostwick, Mary Duginske,
Linda Huebner, and Rich and Joyce Zacharias who are obtaining funds
and installing a security around the kennels. | |
