All pet store dogs are either "produced" in puppy mills or by unethical breeders. Do not be disceived by pet stores that state they obtain their puppies from "local breeders". This is a disception of sorts. All puppy mills or puppy farms are owned by "breeders". Pet stores will state they obtain their puppies from breeders and will not offer the information that they infact receive their puppy from puppy mills or puppy farms!
Please do not confuse the fact of taking a new puppy home from on of these so called stores as "saving" them. In fact they are suffering and so are thier family members. However bad your new puppies situation may be remember it's Mom and Dad are back in the puppy mill or puppy farm for life, whatever length that may be. If more peoeple would stop purchasing their new Pet from these pet stores then the pet stores with not be able to finace keeping them in business. In fact if they loose so will the puppy mills or puppy farms and then the demand will be much lower forcing many more to close this inhumain way of life. Pets are not livestock to be treated as such they are by definition, A domesticated animal kept for pleasure rather than utility. It is not the fault of the uninformed person, however NOW you have been informaed so we ask only that You not be the person to walk into a Pet store to purchasae your next friend. There are several Pet supply stores that do not offer pets for sale and we would encourage you to purchase from them. |
