Adotping/Purchasing an older Dachshund can be a great alterenative to purchasing a puppy for those people who don't need to do the "puppy thing" with all the chewing and special need of growing up.
Here at Vom Daxi Haus, we occasionally place our Young/Adults in homes where they can be "Top Dog" after they have been retired from showing and/or breeding. Or in the event that they show signs of a Health issude that would preclude them from breeding or being bred. Any/all heath issue will be made know to you prior to purchasing a lildoxis Young/Adult.
There are times when an older adult coming from us may not be "housebroken" however ...contrary to .....popular belief and Older adult is many times much easier to potty train then a young puppy.
